A small world.
Big questions.
EcoSim is an independent project exploring artificial life, ecology, and evolution through a simulated world.
What is EcoSim?
EcoSim began as a Python/Pygame experiment and has since moved into active development in Rust. The simulation focuses on interactions between individual organisms and their environments, including survival, reproduction, and inherited traits.
What makes it interesting?
Rather than scripting every outcome, the aim is to build simple, consistent rules and observe what emerges. Predator-prey relationships, population fluctuations, and long-term genetic change are central to that idea.
When can I play?
A public, browser-playable version is being prepared. The website currently serves as a project home while that build is adapted and tested for WebAssembly.
